powderfreak
A nice snowy day at the mountain... snowed all day and only amounted to 2" but this had to have been some of the highest ratio snow we've seen yet this year. Basically air. These cars had about 1.5" of snow as we did have some snow before folks arrived today. Now this is what we call "good snow growth." This is pure dendrite fluff. The snow growth is so good these flakes are almost 1" in diameter some of them, so the actual snow you measure varies considerably based on where the stuff has clumped up. You could measure one spot with 1.5" then another with over 2" as it just depends on how the flakes stacked up in that one little area.
CoastalWx
This storm is probably going to display some differences with those that measured every 6 hrs and those that did not, because of the crappy snow growth allowing for a more denser lighter snow. moneypitmike
Congrats ct , ri , and se mass folks!!! As for my backyard, if one has to go to the tropics and miss a storm, this was the one. I wonder how the icing will be sun night/mon am. Can't really see maps here. 15.0/11 at the pit.

Clinch Leatherwood
The pile of snow is 8" high as of right now. Technically I'm over the 6 hour window to clear...so someone may measure 8.5 or 9 not far from here and it's legit I'm sure.
metagraphica
Avg of 3 measurments in the previously cleared driveway. 8.1" final.

Cold Miser
Avg of 3 measurments in the previously cleared driveway. 8.1" final. Dude, that's pretty awesome. Just a shy bit over 4" here in Brooklyn and I'm not too far north of you. What a difference 20 miles makes with this one.
Baroclinic Zone
Ended up being a nice call by BOX on the total for a lot of the area. There were hints of higher totals along the South Coast that did show up in their totals. Just overperformed with better ratios I'd imagine. Looks like I am around 15:1 or so. CT Rain
DOT obs only 2.3" for Union. Ugh. Impressive band... a bunch of 8-11" amounts from the superband from Salem/East Haddam CT back through Fairfield County. Multiple places broke double digits. Definitely didn't see this kind of band forming. We knew we'd have some frontogenesis but I'm surprised that the mesoscale band became so intense and stalled. Imagine if there was good snow growth in that band what the totals would have been!!!!!
Clinch Leatherwood
That's awesome. And to think this AM you thought you were screwed. Bob I always have performance anxiety before any snow event... We're going to finish around 8.5" give or take. I'll do a better survey shortly.
