You might pull 9 or 10 out of this the way its snowing there and whats left to come

The upside to the grueling wait for it to move in this morning is it's not making much/any progress north. It's just kind of sitting right over us and with the ocean wind now it's going to town. Temp 29.

Phil must be getting croaked too.

if it snows like this past 3 we'll get 8+...

EDIT: Flakes are massive now, just huge dendrites. Back when it used to snow we'd see this with the OE influence taking hold.

Approaching 5.5" now. Literally snowing so hard I'm totally covered within seconds.

congrats!!!

amazing how relatively stationary that band has been for hours, south coast of CT through southeast Mass continues to get clocked with webcams showing I-95 covered New Haven east

latest RUC says southeast Mass stays under good stuff until at least 3pm:

The RUC was pretty darn good for my area all morning. Had the band making it in here and just about to my area getting .5+

Same general shot as the ones over the years...it doesn't get much more impressive than this in broad daylight. I'd say equivalent to about a 1/10 of a mile, if not less.

wow!! that is impressive!!

RUC says this band shifts east out of CT but continues to nail your area for several hours

i'm sure you're getting some OE enhancement as well, winds generally ENE

check out this ConnDOT webcam... I-95 southbound (closest to camera) near New Haven is literally completely snow-covered:

Man. That pic is great! Much more vis out here(steady at 1/2mile). Hoping we get a couple bands like that. Congrats.

Thanks, keeping in form I have one gripe. The snow is so fluffy sleds are being stopped cold.

What could take this to the next level...next hour the synoptic snow should lighten, but hopefully we can get productive OES bands for 6-8 hours.

do you clear after 6 hours when u measure? only asking today bc

if it gets a wee bit "less fluffy" in nature on 2'nd half....clearing will give a better picture of snow accums than usual

Just got under the 'yellow' echoes on the radar.

Equal mix of snow, graupel (possibly sleet now) and freezing rain. Temp and dewpoint has not budged from 23/20.

I saw Block Is. briefly got to 32f before the wind went NNE. Now down to 28f. My wind just backed from ENE to NE. Temps should start to drop again. It's still 33f with Sn-.

I think that might be a camera problem. Notice the low contrast of the image? There's a couple cameras around here that are always like that no matter the weather or lack thereof.

Measured 2.1" in North Chelmsford about 15 min ago...probably end up with 2.5 or so...not all that bad considering its right on the NH border basically. Looks like back home in ORH the total will be between 3-4".

3.1" here so far.

2.5"...I may end up with 3"

19.0\15

Can see that subtle gradient...

It's not too surprising that with the lift into the DGZ that we have 8-10" amounts. Probably 20-1 ratios there. One of those things where it's hard I forecast that much but you know it could happen.

I'm Braintree now with decent flakes. Looks like almost 4" here.

I just measured just under 4
