Clinch Leatherwood
I've been fortunate, it crept just far enough north. Combined now with some ocean enhancement it's snowing at a pretty amazing rate. Clearly the GC has shifted.

ineedsnow
Wow seems low there but i guess not Average of 4 different measurements - 1 on deck, 2 on grass that was empty, 1 on driveway I just got to 94.7 to do my airshift - and there's 1.5" - if that, here at the HOF

wxsniss
Brookline, MA 1pm Nice dry sugar out there! How much further north do we think that 30-35dbz S+ band currently over southeast Mass makes it?

CT Rain
East Haddam Ct has 10.5 inches OTG Mesoscale banding FTW. I'm surprised we got a band to park itself like that.
weathafella
As of 1pm BOS with 2.4 and counting. Zone forecast now calling for 4-6 (NWS). I think BOS ends up around 4-5.... Should bring seasonal total to near futility record ending that speculation. Almost the entire seasonal amount from 9pm 1/18 on.

Yeah I don't think anyone saw that coming to the degree it did. BTW has anyone heard from Forky? He saidn this was a deamplifying wave and wouldn't drop any more than 1-

How much further north do we think that 30-35dbz S+ band currently over southeast Mass makes it? There's definitely more than that here in Milton. I'll probably end up with 5 or 5.5 if this band ends up producing.

He saidn this was a deamplifying wave and wouldn't drop any more than 1-3 I thought 6" was a reasonable high end amount for many of us yesterday. I didn't expect to see the frontogenesis produce a band like that and have it stay in place for hours and hours.

I didn't expect to see the frontogenesis produce a band like that and have it stay in place for hours and hours. I didn't think there would be any kind of banding like that given how things looked, however, if one were to setup I would not have expected it to be as far north as it did...both the NAM/GFS had the best/strongest VV's south of CT and I think though the NAM did have some of these better vV's barely grazing southern CT/RI and then grazing the Cape during the afternoon.
