lol

The storm is an underperformer to OK performer for the northern half of CT. No great rates... a gradual 3" or so. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

No other way around that.

S CT is just getting pounded.

Many reasons but I daresay one of them is the propensity of recent systems to come in colder and in this case, making better dynamics more difficult.

not sure what 24 years experience would mean

haven't seen any obs directly under death band

again what does .60-.65 qpf (already fallen) equal for totals with the ratio's under that band?

here in wakefield mass it is starting to snow better again and i'm interested to see wether we get a nice band from ORH over to the northshore

I'm getting tons of obs in through email, twitter, facebook, etc. Just because it's not on the board doesn't mean they don't exist.

The highest reliable obs I've seen are in the 8-9" range. The report is from a suspect poster in the first place and it has consisentely been higher than nearby reports.

Didn't Ryan say that was the same person who reported 33" in the Jan 12 storm last year? If so, there is plenty reason to doubt their total if its always the high outlier....band or no band.

Upton has released a PNS with several locations under the band. North haven reported the highest by far - and like Ryan said has a history of inflated totals. We'll see what the final numbers show. My sister was under the deathband in derby and has just under 9"

ok ok if it was from a poster who put a bogus report in from a last storm then i apologize

and i still think 10 has fallen somewhere in ct. best of that band was just south by 2 miles or so from derby but either way good snowfall

i apologize to ryan for saying it's silly to call a total like that b.s bc i completely missed that it was from a person with a history

Seems from BOX radar one is forming with a nice thump before ending in a few hours. I'm confident of 4-5 for many of us in eastern MA who have been away from that nice band south. Nice to see Phil come in with 6+. He's been a good sport all winter...perhaps the only one amongst us who hasn't melted down.

10" for certain somewhere. Didn't mean to start a squabble either.
