dendrite
That band is colocated with the best H85 frontogenesis. Congrats to the S Coast.

weatherMA
WSW up...but still calling for 5-7"...but the heavy rates probably caused them to trigger it for the S CT coast.
weathafella
Wrong event....that one had great snowgrowth and took place on Sunday. I meant 12/13/07. This is it without the better 2007 dynamics. Just spent 90 minutes in the woods on a snowy day. You guys should get out in it. It may be sugary but the sweetness added to your weenie soul would be well worth it. Maybe 2 inches otg now. dendrite
OKX dual pol has "graupel" in the heart of that band over SW CT. There must be some massive snow growth in there.
bmj16725
3.5" here as of 11:00 with mod snow since 7 - real good stuff 10 mi south - someone in the "hills" W of the Naugatuck and N of the Merritt is going to have some impressive totals. ORH_wxman
This is such a tight system that the good frontogenesis band is not that far north of the low. The frontogensis above 850mb is pretty weak too...if the system had been a bit more robust, we were trying to get the 600-700mb fronto up in this region, but its kind of diffuse as most of the forcing is concentrated below that level....so we are seeing it all focus along the 800-900mb fronto. Damage In Tolland
I have a feeling that band coming down thru GC is going to enhance the snow SE of it..Looks like it already is.. Yeah good point. Models had good lift at 850 to 700, but it was far south. If this was even a little stronger everything would have been a little more organized to the north as advection processes and frontogenesis would follow. In the end the forecasts wont be too bad, just perhaps a little on The lower end on some of ranges.

Clinch Leatherwood
It's weird, really struggling to get the types of snow they have to the SW here. Another hour has passed, maybe 1/2" during that hour.
