SBUWX23
Some of those are still snow crystals. hard to tell if they are rimed, but graupel does take on weird shapes. I have a mix of graupel, snow , and a few sleet pellets here. yeah that's kinda what i have too, upon closer inspection they are cute little star-sized ice... i guess that's graupel?? here some blown-up pics; my cam doesn't do well on macro shots though but you can kinda make out the starry-shape... here's a better one with contrast adjusted a bit closet to 3" as of 11am

Guest Pamela
4.4" here @ 11:35 AM...but just 1.2" in the last 2 hours because it has not been all the perfect, good snow growth dendrites...but rather some snow pellets and graupel mixed from time to time...though no ice pellets (sleet). The good news is as the both the surface and upper low exit stage right...any mid level warmth will be shoved out to sea...and there is a good chance that some snow should persist over central Long Island till at least 3:30 PM and the eastern tip till around 5:00PM... As I type..the precip appears to be again basically snow.
Chris L
3" of snow as of 10:40 am.. I was outside for an hour, it changed to sleet/snow mix for the past hour.
