BxEngine
The storm looks like it is racing eastward. Not sure how those 3-6 inch amounts will verify. I only have less than an inch so far. Some of us are already over 2", those amounts will easily verify.

rgwp96
2.5 or so just eyeballing it. .17 of precip, no way we hit the .5 range some models showed. .30 of precip the most imo
Snow_Miser
Could some of the mixing thats occuring around the Philadelphia area be due to the dry slot that moved through there? The lack of precipitation probably contributed to the warming aloft there.

RU848789
As of 7:30 am, we have 2.25" in Metuchen (Edison area) and 24F. Only got 1/4" in the past hour or so; snow is falling lightly right now and has been pretty light the past hour. Need the snow to pick up a bit if we want to make 4-5". Local roads are all snow-covered. That radar makes it look like we only have 4-5 hours of precip left, unless we get some backbuilding...
Guest Patrick
I have 2.1 on the ground here in Clifton right now. I see your concern, but I think if you watch central pa over the next hour and the intensity continues to improve, 3-5 should verify across the metro with maybe 6 here or there, perhaps 7 at upton. Interestingly, the snow here is very very fluffy...I was expecting closer to cement. The storm looks like it is racing eastward. Not sure how those 3-6 inch amounts will verify. I only have less than an inch so far.
Snowshack
I never doubt them...it's a good spot with a NE wind off the Sound.... 7 miles to their North Im only measuring about half of what Upton has. It really is a favored spot...(im not doubting it either)

TheTrials
the precip now entering the area means business as the best lift and forcing is coming upon us. Everyone should get well into the advisory level snows and the LE should be met too IMHO

SBUWX23
Surface temperatures should not be a problem at all for Long Island. Maybe for the beach but thats it. What we are looking for is mid-level warming, and whether or not it warms enough to changeover to sleet or freezing rain.

Yeah, I guess no one got those 5000 feet antenas for their weather stations, lol I dont think tha changeover is going to be an issue for any real precip, when we lose the lift and forciing, may snizzle at the end, if at all
