Guest Pamela
6z HRRR has 1/2 inch to 1.0 inch of snow for much of the immediate North Shore of Long Island from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM and *again* from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM...lets see how it does... Measured 1.5" new snow @ 6:00 AM...HRRR was right...
MJO812
The good stuff looks like it will hit us during the daylight hours. Daylight snow ftw.
simpsonsbuff
1.25 inches... Do I have to say new? hehe. NW Bronx... Very fluffy snow... And I don't think it's coming down particularly hard.
RU848789
Snow quickly went from very light to almost moderate about 10-15 minutes ago - everything is now covered with about 1/8" of snow. Nap time... Woke up about 30 minutes ago and went for a nice walk around the neighborhood. It's truly beautiful out there. Snowing moderately at 24F with 2" of new snow on the ground - basically 2" in 3 hours, which isn't bad. Would love to get 3-4" more over the next 6 hours or so, before it possibly changes to sleet (Mt. Holly predicts a change to sleet here in the late morning). billgwx
Uh-oh...now seeing sleet and freezing rain in the obs near Philly and southern NJ. The 09Z RUC really pushes the warm air in at 900 mb after the big band of moderate snow mives through, which would turn this into a sleetfest by mid morning in/near NYC and much of Long Island...with maybe some freezing rain too along the south shore.
