Guest Pamela
Whats the total snowfall? Don't know...just shows the yellow strip for 1/2 to one in each increment...could be reacting to a Sound sea water temperature of +6 C versus a current 850 MB temp of arouind -8 C ....leading to a delta of 14 C....and generally all you need is a delta of more than 12 C for the air to become conditionally unstable...along with that stiff NE breeeze and some open water.... SnowGoose69
Definitely snowing at a good clip here in Washington heights. Prob around an 1" already, but we'll see for this morning how it turns out. The ratios seem good so far, the Central Park ASOS has only measured .06, yet we have 0.9 when I just measured, so we're running around 15 to 1 if that is right, it normally does get the liquid equivalent pretty close as well.
