That band in central IL looks like it could support 1-1.5" per hour rates. Someone could get a little surprise if it stalls out for any length of time.

exactly, cuz in that area, ILX was predicting 1-2" TOTAL...

and on the ice front along i-70 roads are a DISASTER at best right now around Effingham..

5.9 at 5:00 .... so close...oh well...looks like we will have no problem blowin' past 6 inches...things have let up a bit compared to last few hours... but still coming down quite well. . .

6.7 at 6:00

snowfall rates about what they were at 5:00 . . . may still squeek another inch out of this. . .dunno

Up to Huntley. Light snow at best now. Rt. 47 almost empty of traffic but snow covered surface is still routed from the earlier commutes. It would seem that 4+ came down.

Most importantly in tandem with a day off tomorrow is that the trails are open. They'll be beat to hell in 24-48 hours but here's to the first local riding since GHD remnants in mid February last year.
