Radders
I would say we have about 2 - 2.5" on the ground here at Hopewell Junction, but it is tough to measure as it is blowing around so much.. Still all snow here... Hoping to cash in on the heavier echoes that are spreading north before we transition to sleet.

Pitmaster
Just came in from clearing the driveway- somewhere between 4-5 inches. We have big time ice mixing in now down in Monroe so it's getting pretty rough out there. Was hoping we would stay snow longer but we got a nice thump and I got to bust out the ATV and have some fun out there : )

West Point, NY
PL and ZR coming down hard now. Party's over. Shame it couldn't have held off for 2 hrs more. with these echoes, we'd be buried.

West Point, NY
SN here now and 19.4F. A couple inches down in about 90 minutes time. The flakes are small and grainy, but piling up well. Secondary just came a bit too far north for us to hold off the PL but it will solidify the pack for hopefully a reinforcement on Saturday. Low seems to be getting shunted east now so I can't see the warm air aloft getting past the Liberty-Kingston line this far west.

Pitmaster
Very interesting - temp dropped a degree back to 26 and heavy snow again here in Monroe. Although with these types of mixing events in have seen it go back and forth like this.

Juliancolton
Above 30 for the first time today... 30.2/27. Light precip though. That heavy band of convection down from Bergen through Westchester and into SW CT is plowing north and should cool the air some.
West Point, NY
This is wild. Now with the heavier echoes moving back in the pingers are going wild again. More SN with lighter echoes and ice with heavier. Usually it is opposite.
TJay
Sleet has a stronger radar return than snow. When you see strong returns in the winter, there is a good chance it's sleet.

West Point, NY
Sleet has a stronger radar return than snow. When you see strong returns in the winter, there is a good chance it's sleet. This was the strongest echo yet and the good news is that the snow is still fighting to stay in the game. If we go through the balance of the night alternating from + PL to SN, I will be happy.
