Well if it's wind u want I've got plenty of it. Just hop in the car and come get some.

Power has been out for a few hours now, I've got one 70 foot maple down and a bunch of huge branches down too. The wind was absolutely incredible. Easily sustained over 70 for at least 15 minutes and the gusts were just awesome. I was out with the neighbor pulling branches off phone/power lines and got blown flat on my bum.

Wow what a storm!! Def one for the record books.. Lost power around 6pm/ Half my 8ft wood fence surrounding my property is either blown down or about 50ft away! Not much rain but the wind was on another level! 200k out of 300k O&R customers are without power.. Most Cablevision subscribers or TWC have no cable as well.

I'm very fortunate this morning here, just a few dead branches down in the yard, havnt lost power either. Best of luck to the others out there not as fortunate.

I consider myself blessed Rob, no power loss or damage here. Seeing the damage and human loss others have had with this storm. I'm glad to hear you and your loved ones are doing fine.

Even though my lines are underground I have lost power since early evening yesterday. About a dozen trees down in my yard and winds absolutely were hurricane force gusts here at 1K. My sliding glass doors out to the deck were pushing in......pretty scary. Generator holding up well and using 4G phone tether for internet. Wish I could watch live TV to see the damage pics.

lol.. Dude the last thing I wanna see is snow when I have no power..That means cold and you mix that with a 3 week old = no bueno

Congrats on the new addition! Glad everyone on the hv board is safe. Only one large oak down in the woods which just missed my shed.....otherwise all is well. Never thought I would be telling my kids that this will probably be a once in a lifetime event for the second year in a row no less on the same date.

Got very little damage here from Sandy. I wasn't outdoors much on Monday, although it felt a bit windier than the average windy day but nothing I haven't seen before. Meanwhile I'm hearing stories from relatives and friends in NE NJ that trees are down everywhere, barely any gas stations are open, power is out, and many schools are closed for the whole week exceeding the limit of weather emergency days per year, and that's not even close to the devastation seen near the coast. I hope everyone else is OK...

Barely a week after a hurricane it's already time for snow possibilities apparently - 0z ECM has the further north areas in the backside of a major Boston to Vermont snowstorm although this far out it's going to change.

I have been very fortunate with this storm, no issues at all aside from 40 minutes picking up small branches in the yard. My extended family has not been so lucky. I have relatives on the Jersey Shore and on Long Island. My uncle in Jersey lives in Avon right on the Shark River inlet, he lost his new dock but his house is luckliy the highest spot in town. He was surrounded by water at one point but it didn't get any in the house. Of course everything around him is a total mess.

My aunt in Massapequa had 4-5 feet of strom surge run through her house, sounds like its a total loss.

I have an uncle who lives in Bay Shore and he works for LIPA, he's been at work since Sunday. The rumour is that his house is OK but we think they are telling him that because he's stuck at work. Knowing how close he was to the water I don't see any way that his house is fine.

I have two friends that live in Long Beach. The one friend I have not heard from at all but I wasn't surprised by that as he works with the city manager and has had his hands full needless to say. I last heard from my other friend around 8pm on Monday night when he text me about cars floating by the apartment he was staying in at the time. I warned him but he wanted to 'see the storm'. I presume he is OK but can't text back due to he conditions. I also have a feeling that he lost everything.

Not at good situation for so many people out there.

The Southern and Western parts of the County took the brunt.. Your one of the few who maintained power throughout.. I know many ppl in Chester/Goshen/Monroe/Harriman/Warwick etc that still don't have power. Gas stations down there have no fuel and the ones that do have there is a 2-3 hr wait with pd monitoring the line. Craziness. I was fortunate enough that my subdivision had power restored within 25 hrs.. Areas 1 mile in either direction still are without power..
