Really? I didn't see any lightning or hear any thunder. Just some heavy rain for about 10 mins with some gusty winds..

Yeah, it started with a few flashes to the SW but as the radar at 8:30 showed, a dark red patch blew up just as it passed over Monroe. My kids came running out onto the porch where I was watching as the first clap was like a bomb over my house that startled everyone (especially me outside) as I was not expecting anything like that with this weakening line.

Temperature here has been stuck at 47 since 10 PM with increased cloud cover. Low 40s are reasonable but I'm not so sure tonight will reach the forecast low of 39 degrees.

As soon as I logged off the temperature started to steadily drop with KALB reporting less cloud cover. Briefly reached 39 before rising, partly cloudy here now.

Temp got stuck at 45 degrees last night. I think my old location in NE NJ close to the city was actually cooler.

Latest NAM run tries to take a weak yet defined low through NYC/SNE with a chilly heavy rain north of Albany, although it doesn't have a good history with showing scenarios like this one in its 60-84 hour range. I'd side with the drier and weaker ECM/GFS, although it still looks to be chilly, wet for some.

Orange County spent most of the day yesterday in 2 weather zones. If you drew a line from Vails Gate through Chester and down to Warwick, everyone N&W of that line were socked in with foggy/on and off rain with temps in the upper 50's. S&E of that line it got to the mid and upper 60's during the early afternoon with some brightening at times along with a couple of showers. At about 3pm the line collapsed S&E through the eastern parts of the county that were warm sectored and a dense fog rolled in as temps quickly dropped to DP's around 60.

That was interesting to watch on satellite. Did you see any sun down that way? I sure didn't up here.

Not IMBY but you could see just to my SE that there were breaks of blue sky occasionally. Then about 2 pm the low clouds filled in and evolved into a fog by 3 as the temp went from 66 to 59 after the wind shifted north.
