Bob Chill Posted November 28, 2012 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Exposed ridges above 12k anywhere in the west can get jet stream winds on a regular basis. When I used to backcountry ski in the winter near Loveland Pass on CO it was common to have 60-80mph winds. Stinking crazy. You would have to sit down while the gusts blew through or get blown over.
