Deck Pic
The mid Atlantic forum has become a warminista haven....which is fine...I know people like warmth....But I'd rather post in a forum where people actually like cold and snow and even when it doesn't snow they want to be in a cold pattern so the chances are at least there....That way, especially with the upcoming torch, they can celebrate the horrible winter we are having without me getting in the way....The Thursday and Saturday events are looking pretty bad for us, but I know you guys have some more chances coming up....I'd rather be in a forum where people are focused on winter

Deck Pic
I don't know if this is a troll post...but yes you should post in this forum. It's not....the overall sentiment in my forum is that torch is awesome and that warm when it doesn't snow are the best winters (as if those winters even exist at 40S)....instead of fighting it, I'd rather let them have the forum

Ginx snewx
Matt as bad as this winter has been there is always hope that something overproduces. If the GEFS has any clue we get into a pattern in Feb conducive to blocking. A precipitous AO decline is very encouraging to perhaps a period of sustained blocking. I totally feel for ya brother, I am always seeking positive out of sh it storm of warministas posts.
CoastalWx
Thanks....and I am rooting for you guys....Just a quick glance at the models shows you have some upcoming opportunities... Well we all go through a crappy pattern later next week, and then in some shape or form...a -NAO seems to want to return. It's not a strong block, and with the combo of the AK low still hanging around...it may still be hostile for the MA, but it is a start. As long as that -NAO does try to happen..any transient ridge or well timed s/w could help you guys out. Models may be rushing it, but nice to see modeled for now. GEFS seem too aggressive with that feature.

Mr Torchey
Loving Feb right now, especially the last three weeks, not sure that temps will be below normal now, but close to slightly above will give plenty of snow opportunities and with some blocking near the DS, and a gradient pattern shifting se a tad, much of the region should have above normal snowfall for the month. Good times ahead for sure.

Logan11
You are also welcome in the Upstate NY/Ontario/Quebec side where it is snowing today in northern areas and will snow again two or three times between now and early next week. LES first tomorrow....then clipper, then Saturday overunning. Good times ahead for sure. In my memory the best Feb snows always ended as a drizzle type. Big snows use the thermal conflict best. I hope you are correct. It would be nice to PD for the entire board. There are plenty of Zwyts in the MA, they are just muted by the group think.

That sucks, looks like we make it overnight with cover, locked up hard then refreshed all week and weekend. Ice looks possible early next week, interesting evolution. Itunis
I can understand why people in the MA give up on winter and hope for a torch when the pattern is bad. When you avg 1/2 to 1/3 of what people in NE avg, and have a shorter winter season with fewer opportunities, it's a lot easier to throw in the towel and just make the best of a craptastic winter. Not that I wouldn't be annoyed by their attitudes; I'm a big snow fan. Also I think the NE subforum gets a lot of lurkers from other regions. I'll read the threads here sometimes because there is some good analysis that is a lot more fast paced than the C PA thread. I think Zwyts will like it here... I just think it is best over the next 2-3 weeks until the pattern improves, if it does....it is compounded by CWG being complete warm pandering cheerleaders....
