I dunno yet. Just booked tix today. Have a friend who works for Marriot but he doubts he can get a good rate right now.

The marriot is on the eastern edge of the island in new town, probably the most traffic clogged and undesirable part. Taxi's into Old Town will run $16, biking from there is a bit tedious and risky, and if you rent a car to head into Old Town you'll discover there is pretty much no place to park it.

I can recommend the Southernmost Hotel. It's on the quieter end of Duval street which is the main street.

More Key West tips available upon request. :bike:

Look into renting a house in Key West. Been there a few times and that is always a good way to go. Definitely try to get somewhat close to the older part of town near Duval if you can....inevitably you'll end up there every night and getting home can get tricky.

This morning, as I was getting out of my car, I happened to look up and saw a flock of birds. The area around my school is fairly flat, so you have good visability in every direction. This flock of birds extended beyond view to my right and to my left. I'd estimate the width of the flock at 100 yards or so. That part was hard to determine because they were high. There were literally hundreds of thousands of them. I don't know what kind they were, and I don't know anything about migratory patterns of birds, but the direction they were traveling was due north. I don't know what to make of that. Maybe nothing, but it just seemed like a bad omen to me.

I see flocks of thousands upon thousands of crows heading back to roost on a lot of nights, though I don't know if they do something similar in the morning. I've also seen a flock of God-knows-how-many starlings flying over 95 one time when I was stopped in traffic. That flock may very well have been in the millions.

This putting off ""getting things going"" is old and probably not going to work. Im for early spring , winrer has dissappointed. Let it go. Continued cold eith no snow is boring. Storm tracks dont favor us this year.
