Did the posts in that thread somehow prevent you from accessing some critical piece of drizzle-related info? I suspect you just like drama and want it swirl around something and the weenie argument is a convenient one. Whatever floats your boat, man. Reshaping a discussion to cast a certain light onto others is effective. 200 regs vs a couple. The masses speak. All I wanted was a better level of discussion from others especially one who have been here a long time. My methods of pointing things out is different than yours. As much as you can tolerate some things I can't. i speak up. I also speak up for friends who feel the same way but are labeled as being mean. Don't question my support for this board. I've done plenty to help it from eastern to now. I'm glad this place has given me an opportunity to both satisfy my wanting to learn and a place to meet people who are good people. I weant no part of running this board but I should be allowed to try and say things to improve it even if not 100% agree with the way it is done. That is my commitment to this place. Deck Pic Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 your suggestions are good.. trust me we try to listen to them. you know as well as anybody we're a lumbering mass when it comes to some things. i think we have tried to crack down etc more recently than in the past. but this is also supposed to be somewhat fun. like i said, those who run to the snowiest solution or whatnot are more often than not annoying as hell. but take this weekend for instance. im 95% sure it won't be a big deal and the storm stays offshore but i could be wrong. so in that light i don't hate people for talking about the possibility. plus it can open good opportunity for mocking... I'm fine with the banter...I just need to vent sometimes and need a break...when I or anyone else complains it doesnt mean we are calling the staff into action or hate the board....It could be I/we are overreacting....for me that's all it has been this winter...I dont think I have made one moderating suggestion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't even have a single person on ignore and nothing really bothers me. Maybe i have more patience than others. I was one of those "weenies" once. I used to latch on and root for the snowiest solution because I really didn't know any better. It takes alot of time, reading, and studying to be able to interpret everything properly. I only recently hit a stride with it. Looking at too many models is the first mistake a weenie makes. Not using memory of past events when something "interesting" is modeled is another bad mistake. Of course, not fully understanding what you are looking at is at the core of alot of bad posts. I think posting false info can actually be good sometimes. Knowledgeable posters always come in and correct it. It's not like the bad post was an intentional misrepresentation or anything (at least most of the time). It was just bad analysis but it gets corrected with proper analysis. That actually improves the value of the board imo. We're all here to learn. If I never posted bad analysis I would never been taught to do it correctly. The best advice I can give to all weenies and enthusiasts is to fully understand how to read 850 and 500 maps. It all starts there. There is no reason to go beyond that until those maps are easily read and understood. As for all the meaningless posts? Eh, not that big of a deal really. I use the technology available to us (ignore) if someone's posts are bothering me. I stopped contributing there some months back. i realized i was wasting my time trying to be productive there. Too many absolute and inflexible views with many posters. Debating issues is only fun when the people you are debating with can actually attempt to see the world from different perpspectives. AccuWeather forums exist to make life miserable for the staff here during major storms because the terrible posters that get banned there somehow find their way over here.
