Ian
ok people are frustrated with winter.. it's not my fault. nothing has changed from a few weeks ago when many of these very same annoyed people were all like "let's wish for the best until it happens". i listen to everyone not just three people who are angry and think we can't run the board for ****. Ellinwood
i have about as low a tolerance for weenies as anyone... some of this seems like complaining just for fun. Then delete more of their posts? I mean, it's not black-and-white, but having a low tolerance for weenies and letting them post just about as much as they please seems contradictory. I may not be seeing the whole picture here, but that's just what it looks like to me. EDITED because I can't type as fast as I think
Ian
Oh, my sweet dear Ian... your lack of response to a friend sending you a happy birthday that wasn't in a tweet and/or a facebook message was only one of many things to have annoyed me by you today. i honestly don't care what annoys you today.. it's something new with you every day. the fact that people completely uninvolved with board politics or whatever can see it should be more telling than the 18z gfs. EDITED because I can't type as fast as I think this is not a noaa board made up of MA and PhD mets. i wish yoda could learn something year to year just as much as the next guy but im not going to ban him for mentioning the ensembles. i also don't think a board full of totally dry discussion is that enticing to many people... i know we don't always do what people think we should and part of that might be we're not decisive enough but we've still managed to run a successful discussion board for however many years it is now. and it's really not any worse today than it was back then despite what some might want to say. I think the problem in my opinion is that expectations have increased even in the face of evidence to suggest otherwise...a month ago we were happy to try and root on a 1" event because we just wanted snow...expectations were reasonable, we knew we were fighting a bad pattern and discussion was smaller and higher quality....now the nature of the discussion has changed...it is bigger...quality is worse,...but most impotantly there is a complete lack of context....the discussion lacks rationality even in light of the past 2 events and people are ignorantly rooting on a KU that has a 2% chance of happening instead of looking at things with any objectivity....it has become less fun and more dumb which is why I am trying to take a breather... PhineasC
This discussion over weenies is really getting into the realm of silliness now. There just are not that many weenies in the threads and there is hardly any weather worth discussing anyway. Go stir up drama in OT or something. True, but I think the main push isn't for a full clamp down as much as reigning it in some. We all make some weenie/banterish posts from time to time, but to me (and others) it's at the point where some increased effort needs to be taken with moderating posts. Just because a board (or anything) is successful doesn't mean it can't get better.

I don't understand this page count argument. Did the posts in that thread somehow prevent you from accessing some critical piece of drizzle-related info? I suspect you just like drama and want it swirl around something and the weenie argument is a convenient one.
