For the record, NO ONE at my work is even talking about leaving. I agree, enough people think government employees are essentially on the dole as it is and that they serve no purpose. We will keep you in our thoughts. Ironically, some folks may encounter more hazardous conditions now vs if they had courageously sheltered in place until later this evening. The tire guy said they had received lots of calls from people wanting to buy snow tires because of the coming storm. This was Prince Frederick in Clavert County. To start it's not like threads are flying off the pages here and also while his overall idea was apparently very flawed some knowledgables gave him at least half a point of credit. If some of you had ignored the thread it would have gotten like 4 responses and disappeared. It's not logical that we have less weenies than other subforums but the weenies here are not dealt with. There are going to be people here with varying levels of knowledge. American/Eastern have never been a place where newbies are coddled but there's no reason to go out of your way to make people feel dumb. first post here...and felt i should comment. from an outsider's perspective (someone who has lurked around here and there for a while), i couldn't agree with this post more. i feel like there are a certain few people, i won't go into names, you know who you are, who seem to enjoy picking fights and complaining than just having fun and learning. i've seen much worse posts made my people on other non-weather related boards than some of the posts made by irrational or uninformed weenies here, but here's what people do...and this is a real important piece of advice...they ignore the post! that's all. it's pretty easy. too much firefighting goes on here in my opinion. instead of countering someone's argument, those few people would rather just make a rude comment. pretty pathetic actually. i think some people on here need to have thicker skin and just accept that it's a public forum. just enjoy and learn, have fun, chill out a little...life is too short..it's the weather, it's important, but we can't control it. gotta rise above certain things in life and sometimes that means ignoring posts. y'all can disagree, but this is my take, and i have a feeling other lurkers who have shied away from posting on here because they don't want to deal with the bs will probably agree with me as well. that's all i got...carry on...
