nw baltimore wx
Does anyone have a list of winter days and frequency of accumulating snow? I'm not sure that makes sense, but my guess is that over the years we've had snow falling on Jan 19, 20, or 21, more than any other day in winter. Ian
this doesnt include last yr Graph showing number of times it has snowed 1" or more at D.C. on a given date, from 1888-2010 (the historical record period of snowfall). http://voices.washingtonpost.com/capitalweathergang/2010/12/the_december_5_coincidence.html

And just so I'm reading the graph correctly, is it January 19th and 29th that correspond to 12 events?

H2O
We should see a few less posters with the upcoming warm snow event and torch next week. Nothing to see, move along
Ian
i know it's "fun" to track but we go through the same hand wringing in every event. id like to think that this winter will magically stop sucking but it seems unlikely at this point. at least till the bethesdaboy onslaught in feb. WxUSAF
Models are obviously out to lunch with the idea of +6-10C 850s next Wednesday (1/25). That's when the SNOstorm's going to hit, so I think we can safely toss out all model guidance.
ThreeRedheads
My whole approach to this winter is not to expect much with regard to snow. When we get an event, I can be pleasantly surprised.
