ChrisM
Here's what the gfs has for ORH...shows how its not as juiced as the euro. I would think the euro would show more. where do you get those from?

CoastalWx
I dunno - I'm trashing this Euro run beyond 96 hours... To huge of a massfield continuity shift that has no support from other guidance. We've seen the Euro pull this crap at D5+ several times this year - it's been suspect even inside that time range. It looks like the GFS op now.
Damage In Tolland
What model was it last week that someone posted that showed a major icestorm for NEw England for next week? Wasn't it like some 18z GFS run or something?

ChrisM
No no tix for tonight's game. My next game is against Depaul in Feb well if you have nothing to do, I could probably get you cheap non student section seats.
Typhoon Tip
It looks like the GFS op now. Must be a matter of opinion but the Euro has much more emphasis over the GL than the GFS
CoastalWx
Must be a matter of opinion but the Euro has much more emphasis over the GL than the GFS I see what you mean, but they sort of imply almost a warm sector deal into parts of SNE...GFS is more like a fropa. But the euro also has that low to the south for a while, before it got absorbed into the system. It's a complicated scenario and the ensembles seemed to disagree a bit. bch2014
This threat is looking great for me right now. The storms that have mix lines right on the Providence-Boston corridor are the ones I seem to jackpot on. Hopefully it stays similar, but I know it will change! MJHUB
Hows Cumberland looking for this, I think I'm on the mix line? Another Rhode Islander good deal... on a knife's edge for this one. mixing will definatly be an issue if the GFS is correct. If the Euro goes any further north we are toast. dryslot
If we could only lock up the 18z nam, But after the last storm where it failed i would go with the GFS/Euro

Doesn't look too good south of KTOL however.
weatherMA
Also, the nam's much slower. Doesn't have it snowing in much of the area until after noon Saturday.

Zeus
If we could only lock up the 18z nam, But after the last storm where it failed i would go with the GFS/Euro The 18z NAM already seems to be a bit of a nudge south from its 12z run. Right now I'm thinking it continues to nudge south a bit while the GFS and Euro shift a tad north. The CT-RI/MA border up to Boston is probably the battleground when the dust settles. Can't see it going too much further north with the consistency of the H as displayed on recent runs of the GFS and Euro, but could see one additional tick or two to the N of the 0º C line's furthest advancement from there the consensus of the GFS/Euro is currently sitting. weatherMA
you are pelted to absolute death, just pelted lol, yup. Maybe a few hours of snow from 1 to 3 but then its sleet...and a lot of it lol. Probably eventually changing to ZR/RA. But really..its the 18z nam and this morning it was even more ice. I'm sure it'll trend cooler at 00z. weatherMA
look at 850 .. either sleet or freezing rain w/o looking at sounding Yeah I know...I looked at the instantweathermap site and looked at snow totals and just assumed it was accurate. Looking at twisterdata 850 goes above 0C at 850 by 21z but the surface is cold....not really sure how to tell if its sleet or freezing rain. Actually its amazing how cold the surface is. By 00z temps 850 temps look to be like +2 or +3 and the surface is still 30-31F...upper 20s out by Pete.
