cyclone77
LAF has looked like ground zero for some of the best snow from this clipper all day to me. As I mentioned earlier I wouldn't be surprised to see a 3" report somewhere along that main E/W band.

turtlehurricane
1 mile visibility in Lone Rock, a bit off to the west of Madison. Looking at the upper-level disturbance and the thermal wind, I'm starting to think Madison might be in a slighter better position than it seemed before. I think there will be a point where we get pretty good positive vorticity advection by the thermal wind following this initial band, so possibly a few hours of light snow as we get some lift. turtlehurricane
Light snow has begun in Madison even though we're only at ~5 dBZ. So start time is 11:50 pm, let's see how long this one can last.
turtlehurricane
Some surfaces dusted already and we're still just in the very front edge. Single ice crystal snowflakes, looked like plates to me but they were really small. Saw maybe a few drizzle droplets.

cyclone77
Do you think Marion will be in that band??? Yeah Marion should be in that general 1-2" band. The isolated 3" type amounts would be a possibility there as well. Good luck.

buckeye
these are typically the type of events that tend to over perform here in central OH. forecast is 1-2". I bet we see more snow out of this than we do with whatever comes thru tomorrow night.

I bet we see more snow out of this than we do with whatever comes thru tomorrow night. No doubt. I get the feeling tomorrow night is one of those deals that we see so many, many times here. I'll be sitting in my house and all of sudden hear some sleet poundng the house. I'll quick look outside and see that there is some snow, yes, but maybe a total of 10 flakes fall. Then, the precipitation stops for a while, the temperature shoots up and the RAIN commences. OY!!!!!!!
weatherbo
definitely not going to have a problem getting the 1-2" forecasted today.

Chicago WX
Looking at radar, we'll make out fine here...but I think the best chance for 3" lollis will be just north of here, and then sliding ever so ESE.

blue60007
Ramping up quite quickly. Let's do this. Road conditions really deteriorated during my drive to work. Still small flakes so not a lot of stickage on the roads, just blowing around and making things slick. Already saw 4-5 plow trucks hitting the streets.
