It's amazing that as much as we complained this winter about how warm it was and how snowless it was that there were years that were even warmer and had less snowfall. There's still nearly a month and a half of winter weather to go and we could easily see more colder highs and lows as well as more snowfall, especially with the setup depicted.

Feels like the calendar should say April 1st. This year we may have 8-9 months straight of 40s/50 degree temperatures, from October through May. One helluva an extended autumn.

When do we start calling it early spring?

Great running weather out there right now, 40s with dry air. Does feel like late March/early April.

it's hard to call this a January thaw with all the warmth we had so far but it is a thaw and it comes in the January Thaw timeframe...it was mild in 2010 around this date and February rocked...last year it was cold and snowy around this date and February rucked...most of the time when we get a thaw the second half of January the winter resumes in February...How much winter is still to come is the question...If there is no thaw the second half of January it will come in February...

If I didn't have class I would definitely be running. This is great.

But then again, I run in the summer when it's in the 80s at night.

I don't do the whole running in the cold thing though. Forget that.

If its not snowing, I'll be the first guy cheering on the 60 degree temps.

Just ask joshua. Every year in April he sends me angry text messages because I start to get stoked about the first 70s+ of the season.

That was before I fell back in love with Golf, bring on the heat.

You do it in late February and early March though.

Late March and April, bring on the 70's!

I run in the cold, but when it gets below about 15 it starts getting uncomfortable, especially with wind. This is one of the reasons I've become a bit less of a snow/cold fan than I was when I was younger (also living in the city and having to walk everywhere makes the cold more miserable).

Last winter I ran on that morning when the city got down to 6. Now THAT was not fun, especially with a north wind blowing right in my face as I ran along the East River.

Feels like spring out there. I almost rolled down my windows going to work this morning.

And btw what the hell is wrong with 60's? They get no love around here. Everyone always shoots straight for the 70s. 60s with sun, low humidity and a slight breeze is absolutely perfect.

Forget 70s, today's plenty warm. Wore my October sweatshirt this morning and actually began getting too warm. Threw open the windows in the apartment. Interesting how the body adapts. In Sept, this would feel cold, but right now, it feels like a heat wave.

Glad we're having a thaw after all those long days of snow on the ground since Saturday.

Opposite here, I hate running in warm/humid weather. You're sweating before you even get your HR above 90. My ideal running temp is probably 45-50, but I'll do a range of 20 to 75 (only above 75 if the humidity's low). Went to the gym this weekend and they must have had the heat set on 75-80 degrees, felt like I was going to faint on the treadmill.
