mattinpa
I did see that DC/Balt are only about 34 degrees for the day 4/5 storm? That makes it a closer call on the GFS than I thought.

NYC jumps to 38-39 and is rain, after a brief period of snow, in the beginning. http://68.226.77.253/text/1DegGFS/GFS_knyc.txt

Mt. Holly said so this morning, not sure about Upton.
MJO812
Maybe the Euro sticks to its solution. If it doesn't, probably yet another opportunity wasted. Hopefully it does. Anytime there is a south flow off the ocean, it's a safe bet to say it's rain for the immediate coast, especially when there's no real cold air source around. Maybe for Long Island, but NYC could still get some frozen stuff since it's a weak low with a weak high up north.

I have a bridge to sell you if you think the euro is going to verify, and you are probably too far south and will get a lot of ocean influence. ag3
Lets hear the reason Not trying to be a debbie downer, but these type of swfevents are usually better away from the ocean. 2008-2009 types of events. Can be 1" at JFK and 5" at LGA.

Its not about the high to the north. The flow is from the south and south winds mix warm air to the south facing areas faster then what's usually modeled. ag3
Ok not bad. Is this at night? What are temps like? 850's are well below and thicknesses are low. NAM shows surface temps of 32-34 for the city. But its been poor with surface temps, the past 3 weeks.
