This storm (02/23-24) which for most of its life has been on a SE or E track will take a hard left turn (it's more of a uturn actually) to the NNW to screw me out of snow. Watching this stuff unfold is like a watching a car crash in slow motion.

this storm will miss us to the north as much as the last one missed us to the south. i'd like to grab old man winter's cane and beat the living sh*t out of him.

ahhh, I feel better.

Almost every forecast I've seen has shown my area getting screwed over by mixing issues and struggling to get more than 3 inches or so. I'd much rather be in your position than in mine. I'm staying optimistic but it's hard when everybody is quite content to give us rain so that it can snow in Toronto and Barrie. (because we all know that Barrie doesn't get enough snow on its own.)

We were also left out of the snowfall warning. So watching this all slide north like storms always do is gong to be fun.

You've been winning since 09-10. When nobody got anything, you got something in 09-10 and again last year. And so far this year, your totals are far higher than most other regions outside of the LES regions and EONT. So I understand this isnt a "proper" Winter but compared to the rest of SONT you shouldn't be really complaining lol.

This storm took another hard turn like ssc said just like the GHD storm. Pathetic. I hope 0z runs are good cause I'm losing my patience.

I am sure I am speaking for all of the posters in Central/North Central IN and OH in saying that it sucks to be in the screw zone on this one. Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories to our north and severe to our south. We're stuck with rain showers.

Thanks for starting the complaint thread, I feel better now. I guess the good thing is at least there is some weather to follow, even if it isn't IMBY.

Bad time of year for us...we often find ourselves no man's land between snow and severe.

Yeah, we've had a good run of winters down here, which is why I'm not going to be too disappointed if we miss this one. I guess I'm just bitter because it seems like with ever winter storm that rolls through here, we've got the standard "Totals will be reduced by the Lake Erie shore" line coming from EC, TWN, and everybody else. It happened with almost every storm last year and most storms this year as well. I'm bitter, but I'll keep my mouth shut if this underperforms. Fingers crossed.

At least we have a good shot at seeing thundersnow.

Yeah Thundersnow can certainly help increase totals locally. It helped quite a bit during the storms in 07-08 lol.

I understand your frustration but many north of London are much more disappointed than you. In general we havent really seen a widespread snowstorm since 08-09 so I hope next Winter ends this streak of suppressed storms or mixing issues.

I hate talking about busts before they've actually occurred, but the writing is kind of on the wall with this one.

Would be fitting if spring arrives in full force next week. Ultimate FU from mother nature to cap off an FU winter.

Yeah unless thing change quickly this will be the ultimate FU from mama nature. The 6Z NAM this morning had MBY at 22". Yes 22". Not that I believed those totals but 8-12" was looking possible. Looks like I will be lucky to get 2-3" at this point. Next storm - oh F that lets just go to spring. :sun:

I really feel for guys like you and Josh as you are snow lovers, I mean I have severe weather season to look forward to very very soon but is is your season and it has constantly found ways to be a bag of crap all winter long.

SEMI getting dryslotted with this would be one of those things that blurs the line between "comical" and "suicide-inducing"

I dont see anything comical or suicide inducing about it lol. I get tired of hearing about the dry slot like its some magnet to SE MI or something. SE MI gets the dryslot no more than any other place, sometimes you get it sometimes you dont, and unfortunately I dont see how we escape it with this one. We have lucked out on almost every single snowfall this winter, a bad bust was about to happen, and its happening at the worst possible time, what looked like a big storm (although even that is debatable because in the last 48 hours we went from no storm to snowstorm to rainstorm to too far north to too far south to dry slot)....I dont even know if anyone is going to get huge totals with this one. The highest totals will probably be purely from deform zone snow.

Since 09-10. I'm not a huge fan of severe wx. I'm more of a Winter guy lol.

This is p!ssing me off. Every storm since 09-10 has pulled a 360 on us in the last 12 hours which is pathetic and insulting. The last good storm was in 08-09.

And if next year is a neutral ENSO......I can only imagine <_<

Yeah I like a good severe storm but its something I can entirely take or leave. I actually feel more sorry for mike than myself because at least we have been lucking out on almost every snowfall this winter...its been the opposite for him. This is why I dont live/die by the models like so many others....they have been absolutely, undeniably horrendous for the sensible weather in SE MI. Lets see, less than 2 weeks ago we were forecast to get 1" or less we get 5", now we are forecast 4-8" and will get who knows (nowhere near that). And of course all the other small snowfalls that overperformed, rainstorms that underperformed, cloudy days that were supposed to be sunny, sunny days that were supposed to be cloudy, and on and on.

Everyone be a lemming and jump off the cliff in an orderly fashion.

This was a nonexistent snowstorm to every form of local media until last night. We were watching possibilities, but nothing was really shown even on the models til a few days ago. Try being around here when you follow a storm thats looked solid/definite for a week+ and it busts lol. THAT is cliff-jumping time on here.

Toronto had some decent snowstorms last winter. The January LES dropped 6-7", and didn't some places get 8" from the late March storm? I remember Waterloo recorded 10.3".

We need another March 08 to lift everybody's spirits. That was the last time we had a major snowstorm that nailed all of southern Ontario. December 08 was another good month.

Jan 09 wasnt bad either. 2-3 good storms.

I got about 4-5" with that March storm and I got decent LES in December 2010 which dropped 4-6" :D but I'm talking about a decent widespread snowstorm.....been since 08-09. 07-08 featured alot of app runners and gulf lows...amazing year.

Yup, I deserve the majority of the sympathy. Remember, this is 4 winters of unstoppable bullcrap. Adding it all up it's quite the horror story.

Even if I wanted to get into severe wx, every supercell, hook echo, squall line, etc runs into that stable marine layer near Lk Ontario and fizzles like a wet firecracker.

LOL.

That august 2005 super cell was amazing. I got like 100mm in 15-20 mins. Awesome t-storm.

But tracking severe wx is a more local thing and its quite boring....more of winter enthusiast.

Jan 8 LES event was the crown jewel of last winter, with some 6-7" amounts like you said, but the distribution was not uniform. I had less than 6" here, and some spots only got a couple. The March storm was more like 5-6" here with those higher amounts restricted to KW-Hamilton.

I was working in Woodbridge at the time. The whole parking lot became a raging rapid. Cars abandoned all along Martin Grove Rd. Quite amazing.
