EDIT: I saw two reports of 4.0" in Lafayette from CoCoRaHS observers, so I'll ride that unless the LAF guys have any objections/differences.

Wow thats not bad at all in LAF considering their latitude in the kind of winter this has been so far. Shoot, you are in spitting distance of Minneapolis's 10.7" (and you have 4" of snowcover to their 0 attm).
