the talk of 15-20:1 ratios in these parts is looking pretty silly

The problem was though the DGZ was forecasted 36-48hrs ago to be very impressive/deep. But as we got closer the models latched on to a warm nose around 800mb keeping temps above -10 degrees C for most of the event. If those temps were colder it would of been different.

As I look outside its picking back up a bit with flake size a tad better.

yep, we're still going to have a decent window to make up some lost ground.

Well its been nice to see Winter return here. That being said, the system was a bit of an under-performer here for what I thought would shake out. I have about 4.8" down still a bit of bursts of light snow coming down. Highest amounts appear to have been N of highway 30 from Cedar Rapids area over through Savanna IL and up through Galena IL and Dubuque IA with 5.5-6.5" in those spots.

Unfortunately, doesn't look like this is gonna last on the ground long with warmth coming back Monday with a bit of light rain. Appears a bit of seasonal warmth is gonna come charging back into the Midwest the end of next week or there abouts. Such is the Winter in a progressive pattern.
