Tons of wind with this one, 20-30 mph gusts coming off the partially frozen lake, lots of blowing snow in shore areas. The wind slows a bit inland as it hits buildings, and I'm noticing some pretty deep snow up on the street/top of the hill. Dunes up to a foot in grass, which I estimated with a ruler.

MSN has 0.27" in the bucket so this is probably around 4" of snow since the ratio seems pretty good right now.

There is not one bit of snow on my car, besides in the window cracks. What a nice thing for the snowstorm to do!

After being in the perfect spot for any snow system that touched the Great Lakes last Feb (post GHD) and Mar, SE MI is getting cruel payback with this storm by being in the worst spot. With dry slot issues (a "non-classic" dryslot at that) even though flakes will fall all day tomorrow, Im preparing myself for the worst case scenario, possibly seeing barely an inch..hopefully I will be surprised by a bit more. A westerly flow and the lake might POSSIBLY help us tomorrow, we will see.

Cold air will be advancing into Southeast Michigan this evening from both the

northwest and southwest as low pressure over Southern Lake Huron

lifts towards Georgian Bay. This will change the rain over to all

snow within the next 1 to 3 hours. Snowfall will be most persistent

at mbs tonight...where accumulations around 3 or 4 inches are

possible by Friday morning. Accumulations at fnt and ptk are

expected to be an inch or two. The snow will have a high water

content.

By that time the dry slot will be here.

...Grand Rapids cashing in nicely..

Best snows are beginning to wane here. Looks like only light snow/flurries from here on out, so not much additional accumulation. Was nice to see it snowing (sometimes moderately) all day. Been very cold as well, with temps in the mid teens all day. The snow is very dry, and like DLL said earlier it's even blowing off the roof tops. Will go out later this eve and take the official measurement, feeling too lazy right now lol.
