Who knows. LAF has only had 0.02" precip so far. IND 0.04" with 1" of snow works out to 25:1. I wonder if ASOS missed some precip.

Interesting. I'll hope for the best then! I've been watching the HRRR - it seems insistent on bringing round two overnight dropping 2-3".

Bolingbrook . . .

no board, but about 15 measurements averaged out came out to 3.2 ... very fine snow currently falling ... no drifts really yet ...

use it if you want, i understand if ya don't/can't ...

I'll definitely use it, thanks! Almost all the reports I've been sending out from here so far have been resent by the media.

Enjoy your storm guys/gals. Regarding synoptics on this storm, goes to show a phase was never needed for this to still be a decent event. Remember 5-7 days ago the whole discussion revolved around whether or not the cutoff low would ever phase with the northern stream upper low. Once again the ECMWF proved superior.

my quick and dirty (no snowboard) has my local (roughly Foster and the lakefront) at 4" with high end moderate snow and visibilities around 1/4 mile. Gonna take the dog out and get pics

Thanks for the report, believe it or not, we hardly get any from the city itself, so it's appreciated. 4" is impressive considering you were warmer and got off to a bit of a late start with the accumulating snowfall.

My place was bulls eyed by the convergence band, the 3" report from Rogers Park has me feeling pretty good about my estimate.

Enhanced convergence associated with meso low has moved back over lake...rates have come down but flake size remains respectable. I can see a couple more spins over the lake and a decent band slowly organizing to my north. Going to need a couple more heavy periods to hit my call...

lol...was watching the snow/rain line suddenly pivot clockwise away from us as it started getting closer. I actually think we don't even end as a flake with this first slug. That alone is an incredible feat.

Actually kind of good bands near Lexington Ky now moving due north towards Columbus metro.

Dry slot is barely going to last an hour or two, just now Jym Ganahl basically said the snow is canceled. lol

Flight came in perfectly right in the middle of this. Most remarkable thing I saw was how the top of the cloud deck was so incredibly mirror lake, the sun was reflecting like it does in a ski resort. Also nice ice halos and sun dogs.

Couldn't really take pictures of that since it was so bright I think my camera could've got damaged, I certainly couldn't look at it long with my eyes.

Additonally, I can confirm I'm no longer in Florida by the large amount of ice crystals outside my window/roaming down the street in dunes.

that stuff in KY may be a bit too far east by the time it gets as far north as cmh... eastern OH has a better shot.

Ganahl cancelled the snow??? lol

Oh I was thinking more of Licking county. Headed up this way. Looks like it wont make it to the west side though.
