Good friend of mine a firefighter in Decatur saying they are running like crazy right now with people forgetting how to drive. Figure that will be the same about everywhere. Rush hour in the Chicago metro area will be interesting.

Yea I've seen numerous wrecks around the city so far...Rush hour in Chicago would be a nightmare with the Snow

32/31 in Muncie with light snow falling. Mostly small flakes with some slightly bigger ones mixing in. No rain mixing in at all. Sticking to cars, but not heavy enough yet to cover anything.

EDIT: How's MIE looking on the Euro? Nam QPF has us at 0.13, GFS is a 0.28. Thanks in advance.

MIE: 0.16"

PERHAPS THE MORE INTERESTING THING ABOUT THIS WARM WEDGE IS THAT AS

THE COLD LOW LEVEL AIR CURLS IN FROM THE SW TOWARD THE I-94

CORRIDOR... IT RESULTS IN SOME VERY STRONG LOW LEVEL FGEN FORCING

THIS EVENING IN THE SRN PORTION OF THE CWFA. THIS WILL HAVE TO BE

WATCHED FOR THE POTENTIAL OF SOME HEAVY SNOW SETTING UP AROUND 00Z

IN THE SRN CWFA.

Based on radar trend and obs under much heavier returns that up by Waukegan...this is a suspicious report.

It was close to that when I posted... it lightened up now. I figure Kenosha is getting those larger snowflake sizes about now. Ground is almost covered now.

Closing in on 5 inches here. The heavier radar returns have pulled east of Cedar Rapids for good, but we should be able to make 6 by the time it ends this evening. Despite the very cold temp(11 degrees), etc. the snow to water ratio is only about 12 to 1.

Why are you going with a 12:1, with such a low temp?
