Wes, GFS shows a parade of lows rolling over top of a ridge out west and some sort of troughiness in the east though at least 192 hours or so. Any chance some of that energy ends up underneath us? Long lost overrunning event?

Those are the events that seem to have been absent for a long time, and they're the ones I usually like and have more confidence in.

I take it you don't buy hr 216-228...looks pretty on screen

I just don't think the 12z GFS was a very wintry run. But to answer your question, I don't buy much the GFS is selling post 96-120hrs. Unless it's a Lakes cutter. Those you can take to the bank.

If 4 rainy Lakes cutters each followed by chilly, slightly-below normal temperatures for a couple days = winter for you, then yes, winter's back.

sounds like dc winter to me.

it should happen fairly early...like 1-2am....won't stick but maybe we get a snowshower/flizzard

I might take a peak at around 1 am cause I am usually up that late... but I think I am going to be going against the grain hoping for anything really... we'll see

Ah what the heck. I'm usually up to just about midnight. I'll check radar around 11 or so and see if it's worth it. Gotta take what you can get right?

At least it's better than last year. We were surrounded by joyous threads while we sat square in the snow abyss.

You can't even go anywhere on a tank of gas right now to get your fix.
