Probably a burst of lift or something helping dragging the cold down.

wackymann
Drove southeast from Chelmsford to Lexington - snow got wetter and wetter the whole way, and was 50/50 rain/snow on my walk into work 20 minutes ago. Interesting that it has switched back over to mostly snow as of 9:35.
HIPPYVALLEY
Ripping here right now, nice dendrites. .5" past hour. Only about 2" total but better than rain! This is definitely a nice surprise here considering I though I was done when we were drizzle for an hour earlier.

Clinch Leatherwood
Dumbfounded now...luckily I have hair on my head or it would get welts without a hat on. Saw your comments earlier re the Euro. Definitely it won again, and it wins most of the time. More wanted to point out the SREFs....well...they sucked again. I remember a few weeks back when they had a lot of you painted in the high probability for 1" plus the night before and most got nothing. Not a good year for the NAM/SREFs Good to see Pete to you do well, Ray got hosed by the coastal front but overall the thoughts many of us had a day or so ago worked out. Congrats to everyone, we're all happy. My roads are salt free again.

Tropopause_Fold
Nam fail. 18z gfs wound up pretty good after all. yep. it's been bad at times this season. it's had a particularly rough stretch with temperatures - both too warm and too cold at times. not sure what's up with it but not a good season for it so far. consistently late to the party too.
