Blizzard conditions outside right now, absolutely pouring wind driven snow. Heaviest snowfall rates of the year I believe. Close to the LES band that dropped through here in December.

same here and power is out as well... went out about half hour ago. Came back on and has been out for 10 min solid. At least 1 or 2 lightning strikes here as well.

OSU is that lake enhancement coming off of Erie into the Niagara Frontier, some impressive returns on radar up there with Lighting strike

Looks like dry slot heading into far southwestern Chat. county, might inhibit higher totals?

I'm at my gfs in west Seneca and we are getting fricken rocked. Visibility just about completely zero. Power is back on.

Blizzard-like conditions right now with the winds gusting over 40 mph and vis dropping way down with the mod snow. Tough to tell accumulations so far, but at least 2 inches here with drifts over 6 inches.

...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES EARLY THIS MORNING...

WIND BLOWN SNOW ON 25 TO 40 MPH WINDS WILL MAKE FOR DIFFICULT

TRAVEL EARLY THIS MORNING. WHILE ACTUAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS SHOULD

RANGE FROM ABOUT 1 TO 3 INCHES THIS MORNING...THERE WILL MOST

CERTAINLY BE ENOUGH SNOW FOR THE STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS TO REDUCE

VISIBILITIES TO UNDER A QUARTER MILE.

COMPLICATING THE MORNING COMMUTE WILL BE PLUMMETING TEMPERATURES.

SINCE MERCURY READINGS ARE NOW WELL BELOW FREEZING...UNTREATED

AREAS WILL LIKELY HAVE SOME ICE UNDER THE INCREASINGLY SNOW

COVERED SURFACES.

I see that line coming up from the southwest. Rare event to have arctic air sweep in from the southwest...

After a night around or a little below 32, things mixed up ahead of the arctic front and it is up to 36. The front should be here within an hour.

Woah. It was 41.9F less than an hour ago and 36.0F now and dropping as I watch. At first, it almost looked like the driving winds of a thunderstorm. Now we have the snow equivalent. (Make that 35.8F.)

Sooo hard to measure the snow. I'd say 3-4" average depth here. Some drifts are over a foot. Snow is still coming down heavy with visibility under 1/4mi. Drove from my girlfriends in West Seneca to my house in Cheektowaga in what would usually be a 15-20 minute drive. It took me from 7:15 to 9:00.

Finally looks like winter here! Measurements impossible. Continued moderate snow and very strong winds here in downtown at the waterfront. This is pretty much what I imagine a Blizzard to be like. Roads are terrible.

Roads are worse than any storm last year except for the December 1st-3rd event in the southtowns. It's downright horrible outside.
