ORH_wxman
Wish the airmass was a little colder to get better Tip frontal upglide. Remember those events in 2007? They had like a 60kt 850 jet from the sw over LI and then almost calm winds just out ahead of it, in srn CT. Yeah a better temp gradient would increase the ML frontogenesis. But I guess we'll have to try and work with what we've got.
OKpowdah
big big winter incoming. just like 2001... hardly a flurry until February and then BAM... dumping after dumping until roofs start coming down. End of December 2000 had a pretty solid storm ... Anyway, still ahead of 2000-01 and 2010-11 ... October 2011 FTW lol

CoastalWx
NAM seems a little warmer. Scratch that. It goes to town by 09z cooling 850, but it must be really borderline.

Yeah its colder than 18z now by 09z Thursday...must really be getting some dynamical cooling and a bit of tug from that high to the north.
dendrite
Scratch that. It goes to town by 09z cooling 850, but it must be really borderline. It's a disaster in upstate NY.
CoastalWx
NAM is a lot slower too. It barely has any QPF to Dendrite at 12z, where the last run had him ripping by 12z.
OKpowdah
I'm still ahead of last year up until Thursday... then I turn into the September Sox I might still survive. 28" so far here (18" in October, 5" in November, 5" in December ... LOL) 30" by 1/12/2011 So as long as I can pull off a good snowfall on Thursday ...

OKpowdah
NAM has shifted the southern s/w west, but man that's a potent mesovort. Definitely some impressive dynamics going on there ... really amps things up off the NJ coast at 12z
CoastalWx
Kind of weird that the NAM as a warm layer at 875mb at 12z, instead of higher up near 800mb.
