Once again after the cutter  it looks good ver****inbatim

Ha.. I'm seriously done with winter.. I could care less if it snows or doesn't snow, if its 70 or -10.

After listening to constant analysis of MJO and the euro wrecklies, I have just come to the personal realization that I don't really care for this winter anymore.

Ill still be on this board, cause I think its hilarious that people are wavering on each and every model run. But I've gotten to the point where unless a storm is 84 hours out.. why look at it?

I actually didn't really care about this past storm at all.. if it trended warmer I would have acted the same as I did when it snowed like 4.4"

There's really no point in following a storm that is 4-5 days out anymore cause it's gonna shift about 500 miles until it hits...

This pattern is so bad that the models are even tired of trying to produce snow (Nam)

Give me KU or just give me spring...

Things I'm looking forward to:

Superbowl in 22 days

Myrtle beach in 47 days

Spring

sad thing is they were catching up, this is gonna hurt but maybe the thaw in a winter that wasn't actually starts winter. -NAO Feb?

Well I used to ski at Blandford growing up and back then they had no snowmaking. I remember at least skiing every winter, even though we did have to ski around the bare spots and they were known to bring up some snow from the parking lot more than a few times. Those were the lean early 80's yrs. 79/80 and 80/81. Lean snow years. But at least there were ski days, always. Without snowmaking there would be 0 ski days at Blandford today, and according to the long range, through Jan. I'd have to do some research and not sure if I could find it, but I don't think that has happened in the last 40 yrs.

The overnight teleconnectors are struggling really hard to end winter.

I am not sure they will be successful, as there is still ongoing thermal turmoil in the stratosphere over the PV; which could, of course, mean a forced suppression in the PV out in time just yet. It could be that they have merely temporarily lost the signal that had been gaining momentum – unsure. But if the snap shot EPO/PNA/NAO verifies …combined with the near abandonment of the previously advertised –AO were to take place, I don’t see it snowing again for the rest of this month frankly. Probably have to deal with a powerful warm sector in there at some point too – again, *IF* this "new" appeal is valid. Can't stress that enough because some folks will read this and throw their hands in negativity.

But, again… the retrograding of the EPO ridge off the mound could be an error just the same… Not sure why the AO is trying neutralize in the ensemble mean forecast though – that’s an enigma.

Unreal year. The atmosphere is behaving as though a piddle 2-3” snow fall is so exotically major that it has to do the 45 day pattern reload. Unbelievable. Other years, you get this as a forethought before the 20”er. Multiple times. Just bizarre.

Most astounding to me is the cyclical nature of threats this year...it's been about every 20 or so days now since 10/31. Then like you said we're back to crap.

Yes, good point actually.

What an absolute epic fail. Our worst fears about the pattern and the subsequent change have come true.

I kind of like it... My outdoorsy plans are less impeded ftw.

But yeah, ... For those more reliant on proper winter weather this doesn't seem natural anymore - seems like it is being done deliberately. Oh man - haha.

I mean, you got nothing to argue against, either. The NAO is positive ...well, storms should go west.

If there were a better time to tune out and ignore weather altogether (if that is an option for you...), I suggest you take a vacation from it now and check back in in a couple weeks. Maybe you'll get pleasantly surprised - otherwise ...heh, don't know what to tell you.

There's almost no doubt in my mind that tons and tons of records will be made across the Plains and perhaos parts of the east.

Meanwhile.... have guys been paying attention to the headliner winter they are getting in Alaska?! Just wow. Cordova Alaska reported 15 feet of snow in December... It's regional too - Valdez ...there all buried alive.
