Ray may get the coldest rain possible, but he may ice up a bit as the low passes just near the Cape.

Isn't this the system that last week many mets here, and others (even Kevin) told us not to get excited about, and that it would be a rain event?

It sounds like any froz. precip will be a bonus for many considering what it seemed like it was going to be (rain).

We've said that about every system so far this winter.

I'm sorry... were you here in 2006-2007? That was pretty cruddy. And of course you were not around for 1979...

But yeah, models have hinted at a few events and then blown donkey balls....Dec 23, Dec 27, this...

Not even f u c king close on the cp...seriously.

2006-07 is close to this point but that pattern fliip lasted 2 months. This one probably 2 weeks. 1979-80 had much more snow to this point believe it or not. This one is the king dead ratter that makes me miss 2001-02.

Meh, the pattern flipped and we had another 12" to show for it.

Looks like a big sleeter here in the Berks after 1-2" of snow on the front end. If NAM verifies, there is going to be an epic battle between WAA and dynamic cooling in the northern half of MA, which could mean a large gradient between Pete and MPM. We'll see how this evolves, but I think this is mostly an icing event locally with sleet and freezing rain. Plymouth, NH will score on this one.

not so sure about the 79-80 claim. according to co-op data from bedford (closest to where i reside):

nov 79=0

dec 79= 2.7

jan 80 (up to 1/10): 0 (0.8 for entire month)

so far this year, id say the oct storm gave us about 4". plus maybe 0.2 today. 4.2 > 2.7
