Interesting, when the first, weaker band on the radar moved here light snow/sleet fell, but with the band the radar shows is stronger than the previous one, only a drizzle fell. I shoveled some sleet, so the coating of sleet is more noticeable as it contrasts against the black pavement. We actually had snow/sleet here in C NJ before it stopped. NYCSuburbs Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Didn't take too long from my first post... primarily snow falling now with HUGE flakes... starting to coat everything, hopefully this will last long enough so that the band now in western NJ adds up to whatever falls now. Given the radar it looks like this snow/sleet should last another hour or so before a dry slot comes in, with anything behind that likely falling as rain in NYC.
