dryslot
We took down the tree last weekend. We just haul it out back into the woods. Most years that involves going through snow, sometimes deep snow. This year I was more worried about ticks than flakes But it does have to turn...sometime lol

mahk_webstah
Your optimism is infectious, all of our xmas decorations are long gone however, I told my wife the tree will remain up until we get a snowstorm. So the only thing left on the tree are white lights, its subtle but nice to have in the home. I hope you get snow sooner rather than later. I will try not to make a sarcastic comment. If you read Don S. in the main thread it is a potentially very depressing 6 weeks ahead for us. I suppose it could happen... I just read his latest post and my optimism is fading as he is really good in the long range.

Clinch Leatherwood
Link, please...couldn't find it... It's under the medium range discussion, last page weather main. Not good, but can't say that it isn't showing up (JMHO) in the progs. I'm about 70% sold February may be in the tank too, but TBD in the coming week or two. If we don't see the models snap after we get this next storm utoh. We've all seen the maps, after this next cold surge it didn't look great and what is TBD is whether or not we're going to see a real change models aren't seeing, or if we are cooked for this winter and we're going to end up in a record snowless actual winter. weatherMA
Waaa Waaa Waaaa! It's never ever going to snow ever again. Get a grip people. Agreed. Even if it doesn't snow again this winter who cares. And I'd put the chances of this area not seeing another 4+ event at 5% or less. Most likely we see at least 3 and possibly more 4+ events. But who knows.

Go back a few pages and see the modeled riding over AK and Greenland with a trough in the eastern US. That didn't look too bad. I don't know....I average about 55-60"/yr. If I only manage 25" (20" more), that is still four 5" events.

Of course I would much rather it snow and I will probably still visit this forum every day and multiple times a day. But unless this is the year where we set record low snowfalls, (possible) then it will snow again.

snowNH
Alright nerds... There is really no point at even looking at the board over the next 5-7 days. Nice September Rainstorm and then cold air (probably for the next 15 days lol) Great time to take a nice break for the weekend. I hope everyone doesn't spend all weekend on this board when the bruins and NFL playoffs are on. The epic boredom is seriously worse than like mid July. Later pile of sticks. I'll read ya on monday! I'm skiing nearly everyday and while I'd like there to be an epic snowpack I'll make the best with what I'm given. As far as I'm concerned there is reason for optimism. At the very least it's not disgusting Summer weather out there.

Mr Torchey
Still think we have a good period from the 20th on, but the 0z run of the gfs was absolutely atrocious, not liking the trends the last two days at all, and when Don posts things like he did this evening its reason for pause. Trying to stay upbeat but this is pretty brutal no matter how you spin it. Hopefully things look better tomorrow................

40/70 Benchmark
Don S is not perfect....I remember him promising we NE weenies, who were left out of the Feb madness in the MA, an epic March of 2010. I received .5" on the month. Who knows, maybe he is like the EURO and nails shatty calls, but only busts when it's good.

snowNH
I'm sorry for posting like this winter pattern... I am going to make a pact that I will not post again until I receive 1" new .. not old.. new. I suck at posting and I just can't help it. This winter has gotten to me. Its gotten to me bad. Again, I hope you don't waste your time here over the next few days and you wont be hearing from me til I get actual accumulating snow.. if I break pact, just ban me. Seriously.
