Oh man! West to east movement! I am wondering if we get a DC split! Let's see! Faquier will get it and Montgomery county but me in Sterling and even in DC may get robbed! Unless we get new development or enhancement east of the mountains! But I have that feeling - it is a feeling now, and I may be wrong, but I have seen it in many summertime squalls.

as I noted, 44 at the last reading for KMRB, and it is now sticking to grass. wvclimo noted from his wx station ~10 miles N of me that once the front came in the temps have been dropping steadily.

I don't fabricate obs.

By the time the temp dropped enough here, the heavier echoes from the squall line had slipped south of me. You were in the better rates longer. I got a cartop dusting, but that's about it.

Fun night to watch though. 7:00 clear skies and 36, 9:00 rain and 43, now light snow and 34.

I am going to see 3 minutes of snow :snowing: :

SHORT TERM FORECAST

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON DC

946 PM EST SUN JAN 29 2012

MDZ006-007-009>011-300400-

NORTHERN BALTIMORE-HARFORD-MONTGOMERY-HOWARD-SOUTHERN BALTIMORE-

.NOW...

A SQUALL OF MODERATE SNOW AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO

MOVE EAST ALONG THE MASON- DIXON LINE ACROSS NORTH-CENTRAL

MARYLAND AT AROUND 45 MPH THROUGH THE LATE EVENING HOURS. THROUGH

11 PM...EXPECT UP TO A FEW TENTHS OF A INCH OF SNOWFALL FROM QUICK

BURSTS OF SNOW. A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED AT THE

ONSET AT ELEVATIONS BELOW 1200 FT BUT THEN EXPECT A QUICK

CHANGEOVER TO SNOW. WESTERLY WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 35 MPH WILL

ALSO ACCOMPANY THIS SQUALL.

the car is clean (YAY! less to clean at 6 am) and there is a dusting on the grass. totally unexpected and therefore so welcome.

bring on next weekend!

Yes. Would be nice to have something more to get excited about than a snow shower with a passing vort. Hell, I pulled an all-nighter for an inch-and-a-half and some sleet already this winter. :weenie:

Bring on February !

Not accusing you of any fabrication, just an interesting observation, thought that was your actual temp while snow was sticking
