Bump the thread for the upcoming rain obs. Hope everyone enjoys seeing dark greens and yellows in the radar continuously streaming over us. Of course, that would never happen with temps at or below 32.

I don't know about anyone else, but my last little bit of optimism is just about gone. I can tell you without hesitation that spring can't get here fast enough for me. At least by then, I care very little about the weather, and that lasts until my grass starts turning brown.

If I didn't know about the inevitable, unrelenting oven-baked drought that accompanies it, I'd agree with you.

Optimism out the :snowwindow:

A cold rain began falling just before 7AM, 35/32. Looks like a crappy day here. WWA is out but it warmed up enough to begin as rain in my back yard. Farther north may see some frozen precip where it's still below freezing.

Your snow will come this year.

Attached the plow bracket to my truck yesterday.

I did not even use the plow last year yet I am totally confident based on living around here for 45 years that this is not a shut out year. I will be using the plow again within 30 days.

A tad worried about the possibility of freezing rain in some low spots on onset of precip mainly north of I-70/68. Cumberland is currently sitting at 25/25 with rain 1 hr away, Fredrick is at 29 and even a VDOT station on Rt.15 at Lucketts in Loudoun county is 27/27.

Edit: WWA for T amounts of ZR issued at 10:07 AM for E WV and far W VA counties

0.26" of rain today...currently 47, but by this time tomorrow temperature will be falling fast and there should be some snow blowing in the westerly wind. Local TV mets are hyping the change with words like whiteouts, etc...ground should be white by Friday morning at the least.

CRW AFD.....Best dynamic support looks to run from the

coalfields northeast towards ckb. Changeover to snow will be fairly

rapid after 00z from west to east as Arctic air collapses in

quickly. Looking at perhaps an inch of accumulation in the

tri-state area...with 2-4 inches most other locations through 12z

Friday. This snow will likely require advisory issuances.

looks like 40-45dbz down south about to move in, maybe a 1"+ event areawide. Will need all of this come summer's death ridge, only 2.7" of rain from May15 to August 25 in 2011.

looks like it's going to underperform in the dc/balt area at least
