Got some 20-25dbz returns popping around the oh/ky border with the first 500 ul energy swinging through. The optimistic weenie side of me is saying we see some flakes this evening before the big daddy rolls through after midnight.

"big daddy?"

and then I did some investigating...none of the areas in the 90%+ RH on the RUC are reporting snow....I might get excited if I see a single snow ob somewhere

i dont think any of my posts indicated it was going to be anything significant. but i have seen it snow at 40-50% RH so i don't totally buy the low dew argument even though i brought it up. the lack of good forcing is the main problem. im just finally coming around to wanting it to snow..

I'd be surprised to not see something at krlx in the next 30 minutes. 30-35dBZ incoming down low on the 0.5°tilt

On the back edge, Parkersburg was about 1.5 mi visibility. It looks like the snow lasted there for about an hour. The best anyone (WV or wherever) sees in this first pulse is probably like what we saw Christmas night 1993- a quick burst of intense snow that coats the roads

According to the models, the first burst may be what we get, the second vort isnt looking as great now, tho we gotta keep our eyes peeled.

Today's activity in this thread pretty much sums up how bad our winter has been so far. The fact that we are analyzing a vort that at best drops a light dusting and hoping we just see flakes fall is kinda silly........but I'm all in anyway.

I like any snow chance regardless of amount. Sure, we all would like feet but there is something nice about a light event with high stickage probabilities.

We follow Ian's and Marks severe threads with just as much fervor and you know how those turn out. ;)

Hi, Ian.
