Does anybody know what Atmospheric and Environmental Research forecasted for this winter?

Recommended Posts

This year's forecast was certainly interesting. In early November, he predicted another pretty cold winter. Yet, ONE WEEK LATER, his forecast maps were suddenly for WAY above normal temps. I don't know exactly what prompted that drastic change, but he's never done that before in my years of following his forecasts. Whatever it was that changed his mind, his last forecast looks like he nailed it.

Now you're making me really curious about his actual forecast now that I know he distributed maps...Where were you able to see his maps at? Are they available to the public now since they are old? Thanks!

Heh, Thanks Glenn, well sounds like he's doing pretty well so far, it would be cool to compare the maps. I'm pretty sure he issues DJF & JFM version maps. That being said, it's still awhile till the end of Feb/Mar.. I know the model has an explained variance of 75% or something like that, so it isn't perfect, but damn good..

As you may recall, I am not the public. We have access to their forecasts by paying them money.
