WilkesboroDude
Theoretically speaking, how would all of the 60 degree days next week affect our possible winter weather threat? Would this kill any hopes of a minimal ice storm? Sky rocket our wet / soil temps to kill any hopes of minimal snow accumulations?
POWERSTROKE
Tough loss at home for State tonight....feel really bad for the team. If I feel terrible, I can't imagine how they feel. A couple of calls really hurt us, missed free throws at the line and brick city on 3-pointers didn't help our case either. I just hope these back to back losses only motivates the team to do better. CJL came to play tonight and Howell was looking strong once again before he fouled out. Go Wahoos

Would this kill any hopes of a minimal ice storm? Sky rocket our wet / soil temps to kill any hopes of minimal snow accumulations? Nope. Most damage from ice storms occurs above ground level. Tree branches and wires are the same temp as the surrounding air. The air temp 24 hours previously had no effect. It would help to keep roads from freezing though. As for getting minimal accumulations or more, that will depend on the snowfall rates. In the south it isn't that unusual to be near 60 degrees one day and have a significant snowfall the next. GaffneyPeach
Another Met you talk about some said this: That is a cross polar injection of cold into the N America with a negative epo... the kind of pattern that can bring snow all the way into the heart of Dixie, yet alone further north I'm still waiting on the argument over where Dixie is. QC_Halo
Snow in Crown Town would definitely mess it up... If I knew 100% that a storm was coming that would cancel my Sunday flight, I'd pay one of you weather nerds $300 to pull out your weather altering particle beam to disrupt the event. QC_Halo
If I was wild boar hunting in NC, I'd think doing it in the snow would be awesome.... I've whitewater kayaked in the snow twice and it was very cool. The second time was on Wilson creek. Had some nice heavy snow on the way home. It was snowing hard in CLT, but it was all for show and didn't really stick. I guess that was 3 years ago. Actually it w March 2009.
