Haha naw man no worries from me. I was just giving you a hard time. Don't stop posting you have some good insight and GA needs all the posters they can get.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm not going to quit posting, but I am staying away from the Med-long range thread for a bit, I don't know if that's a few hours or a few days but I need a break, emotionally I'm broken.

Snow withdrawal, eventually you get through them and find yourself not caring if it snows or not. Of course, you have to go through the stages of grief first.

1. Denial - Oh, it's no big deal, the pattern will get better, all the models are wrong, we'll get some snow!

2. Anger- Stupid models, stupid weather, why can't we just get some damn snow!?

3. Bargaining - If we just get 1" of snow this winter, I will be happy... I'll do anything for just 1" of snow!

4. Depression - This winter is terrible, it's never going to snow ever again, I feel so hopeless.

5. Acceptance - Well, it didn't snow this winter, there's always next winter!

I'm between stage 4 and 5 at this point. Honestly a big part of me yearns for the days when I was young and only had TWC to rely on. Waking up to snow on the ground that you never expected or snow falling from the sky unexpectedly really is special.

last year we got the cold and snow early before Feb. Cant remember exactly when the switch flipped, but sometime around beginning of Feb give or take a week. So what if this year turns out to be warm no snow on the front end, then it flips and we get hammered in Feb and March. Thats what I'm hoping for.

Around here it can be 80 one day and snow the next. The models are all over the place because the pattern is changing, how much and for how long is yet to be answered. I gaurantee that many of us see flakes several times before the winter is over, whether or not its a little or a lot remains to be seen but I doubt we make it through the entire winter without some kind of winter weather over most of NC at least.

Watch this video and pay close attention to what Scott says at the beginning of the video as far as the temps...

These are both very true. I am hoping the storms rolling through Wednesday could really be the game changer. A lot of times it does seem like things change quickly down here. It could be warm one day, have severe storms, and then snowing all within a week. It's happened before. I also hope we're just seeing the reverse of the last couple of winters, where December and January gave us most of our snow around here. I know it can all happen like flipping a switch, and we get snow. I guess I just don't like how the pattern has been, but maybe it really will change soon. The time period of 1/20 to 1/31 has been pretty good here as far as big snow storms go.

Amazing people get this upset over frozen stuff that falls out of the sky. I'm actually enjoying this fairly mild winter we're having myself.

Agree, allows time to catch up on other things besides model watching and also puts a dent in the utilities. In the absence of frozen type, give me 60's all winter long! Things are getting a little chippy in the mid-long range thread, afraid if we don't get some SN in the SE before the month is out, a few folks may go postal.

You guys crack me up!

Maybe it's because I'm older now but I'll take whatever I can get. I remember when I was in college and we went more than a few winters in Knoxville with little to no snow. It REALLY bothered me at the time. But no more. Yes, I get disappointed when things don't materialize but there's always another chance. More than a few people up here look at these processes from an emotional point of view instead of a scientific standpoint but you have to keep the two separated as much as you can, it's the one thing that helps me stay objective and not flip and flop with every model run. You'll have plenty of time to get excited once something is in range.

Got another hobby? :D Focus on that for a few days. I'm already thinking about going racing (starting next month hopefully), I spend time working on my website (added 4 new loops for a total of 7 pages on Sunday!), anything to take my mind off of it sometimes!

People are just not reading the models correctly. After an exhaustive study of the models over the last 2 months a clear trend has emerged that is very encouraging to those who are waiting for the cold air to arrive. While it seems the cold air constantly only appears more than 10 days out this is about to change. My studies have shown that for every three calendar days that pass the average predicted arrival time of the Arctic air moves closer by six hours of real time. Simply extrapolating this out to its logical conclusion shows us that the first Arctic front will sweep across the SE in the early morning hours of April 17th.

I just want some snow. Is that so wrong?

The thing about all of this is Robert has said since early December that we are not going get snow like last year most likely, however he did say he thinks there will be one big storm. We all have to accept that. I love snow just as much as the next guy but constantly complaining about it makes no sense. I feel we will get it we just don't know when. I remember March 1, 2009 when we got nailed. It is January 9th, so there is plenty of time. One decent storm and we have our average snowfall. I don't think any models can be trusted until within 72 hours and sometimes that is a stretch

Chillax, it is just the 18z GFS @ day 6-7, so what if the DGEX is onboard, it should be considering it's basically a high res version of the 12z GFS.

Snow deprivation should be labeled a disease. Just exciting to finally see something of a tiny merit within a week out.

Well this isn't going to be a big storm, so it's just a phantom and will be gone on the next model run.

PStroke i edited my post on the disco thread to include your fleet, i wanted to tell you earlier but forgot since i had to do the dr appt stuff but i like your trucks and think i'd have a ball doing that. In the back of my mind i've always wanted to live somewhere snowy and get paid to be out in it. I know it's not always a fun deal but i would enjoy it!!
