It's going to take some time to figure out what happens with this cutoff. Typical biases in place: Euro holds onto it too long, and the GFS ejects it all east quickly

Oh, I agree, whole-heartedly on the typical biases. I'd place my money on some sort of overrunning event, not nearly as phased as the Euro shows. For once it looks as thought the cold will be there to be tapped into.

Looks interesting for sure. Timing and the amplitude of that trough digging upstream will be important. I kinda like that the GFS is suppressed way south, and the Euro is between good and cutter. The Euro's bias has been pretty strong so far this winter, sooo let's see what happens.

Only 18 runs of the Euro and 36 runs of the GFS left to go lol

Lol. The Euro has definitely over-amplified systems in the extended range. And you have the typical GFS bias of losing the southern stream. That's why I think some sort of in between is plausible.
