Logan11
2.6 inches was the final # here today. So we have about 6 inches in the woods. From just that 2.6" to maybe 5 inches (variable) in the fields. Hope we can get an inch or two tonight. The fresh snow has helped it drop to the current 13F. I believe some of the LES made it into SNE GC. Your thermometer FTL.

Yep, the next three days will have unusual times for highs and lows during the 24 hour span, and incredible temp gradients across southern new england. HIPPYVALLEY
20F here. Still mostly clear. Has been cold enough the past few nights and today that the smaller ponds are pretty solid, not sure I'd venture out on some of the bigger bodies of water. I saw a lot of ice fisherman out on Barton Cove on the Ct River at Turners Falls today. Even a few small shacks.

weatherwiz
Does BDL really only average just over 21'' of snow through January 30th?
snowman21
Does BDL really only average just over 21'' of snow through January 30th? Yes. Nov-Jan normal snowfall is 21.7 inches. Of course those numbers are a bit low as the total for the whole year at BDL is now 40.5, so add on about 20% for the real number.

weathafella
Looking more and more as if this winter is just a dead ratter start to finish. It concerned me hearing about the brutal cold in eastern Europe. That suggests that we're on the wrong side of the cold and perhaps troffing is developing in Cahir's area? That would suggest that even with seemingly good setups, we stay above normal. Sit back and enjoy it, nothing else you can do. I may head south in late February unless the pattern shows anything close to good. Rarely do these winters flip for more than a week or 2. This appears to be no exception. HIPPYVALLEY
28F currently but looks like there are already mid-40's showing up in CT. Just going to have patches on the lawn after if we have 2 days in the 40's. Hopefully the pond ice doesn't take too bad a hit.
powderfreak
January ended with a bang in the Green Mountains.... hasn't been pretty but winter lives on. Mr Torchey
54 and wall to wall sunshine. Nice to see bos metro joining in the warmth now, and low 50s into sw vt on the meso site. Cheated once ten days ago and had a couple drinks, only 3 since Jan 1st, not bad. The margs and steak will taste exceptionally good for the wife and I on the deck a bit later. Get out and enjoy this amazing weather!! Tomorrow even warmer!
