It does not pay to be at 1000ft in NE CT today.

Not today it doesn't. Interesting ride this evening coming out of the valley. It was 33° in Somers (CT River Valley) and the temp spiked as I climbed up the 1000' hill to 40°. The temp didn't drop back down the hill and it was 41° at the time at my house.

Now we're sitting at 44° (though it's 41° over 1,000') and the snow is melting....I'm hoping we can hold on to something!

Depends on one's definition of distant interior. Even West Chesterfield is only about 75 miles from the CT coast.

Well thanks for the geography lesson. I had no idea the Atlantic Ocean was anywhere nearby since I can't hear the waves breaking. I was speaking more to the fact that BOX often refers to us as the distant interior, as in "Snow for the distant interior."

I do not think I melt out my cover by tomorrow night unless the sun is blazing tomorrow. Ground was frozen prior to the two snows, rain is soaking in, we will see.

Hope you are right but I fear not. You don't have all that much water in the pack and it's approaching 50 in your by. Full sun tomorrow and a downsloper ftl.

36.5 here, but eventually the heat has to blow in at least for while. It's mid/upper 40's in the SYR area and a few hill top obs to the west have touched 50. ROC is "cooling" back to the low 40's and BUF is in the mid/upper 30's.

Meh' 33.5F here. Upper Valley held strong. I broke 32 at 9:30pm. Still a nice glaze on everything when I took the dog out 10 minutes ago.

These set ups are very location dependent. One of the few times I get temps lower than Pete.

I've held the cold air for much longer than wouldve imagined still 32.5 but warm enough that the ice on the trees is melting off. My road is very slippery though and my unpaved driveway has a sheet of ice on it about .2 inches thick closer to .3 than .2
