Nice Dave, how far up 20/112 did you go?

We went all the way up 112 through Ashfield. It was a nice ride over all. My wife and I usually take "Sunday" drives but we've been busy working in our woods cleaning up and preparing for this years sugaring season in March so this was our chance to get out. A collegue of mine lives in Worthington which is why I decided to go up that way. I was thinking of you when I saw the Chesterfield signs so I thought I'd mention that we were in the area.

My Dad was a wx weenie back in the 50's before the concept had been invented. LOL And he remembered almost all the events in March and April 1956 ..in the Mid Hudson Valley where the family was then. That was his favorite winter.

I heard similar stories from my Dad as well.....we can only hope lol

My teacher just. asked if there were any weather weenies in class and i said im a double bunner lol

I've often wondered what the origins of the term are. I used to volunteer for a local TV met back in the early 80s who mentored me but everyone always referred to us as weather weenies. They would even go so far as to have wx weenie alerts for us! lol Does anyone know of any other or earlier references to the weenie term?

My moniker comes from a term that students at Lyndon used to call the met students...met herb's. I know the origin of that is from Burger King commercials that featured a nerdy guy named "Herb" and so it just made sense. I don't believe that term is still used these days.

another torch, these numbers may go up as warm air advection floods the area tonight ahead of the cold front and severe weather developing across western ny! Hopefully sw winds kick up and scour out this marine taint.!!!

LOL everyone is talking about the torch fail and it's 48 here at 815pm. I mean seriously, yet another +10 day in Boston.

Torch fail? lol its not even supposed to begin until late this weekend early next week, in the meantime another mega departure and temps keep going up. I love how some use the gfs to say the torch has been muted but refuse to believe that it rains saturday, good stuff.

Things should turn around in Feb, looking forward to some real winter like weather for more than just a day or two, and actually seeing some snow not 1.2 inches of slush or 3 inches over the first half of winter. Sure our good friend Pete will come in to say how great its been, the numbers dont lie, orh is the only major climo of the big 4 with more than 5 inches of snow more than half way in now.

Im done arguing truth and facts, we all want snow it is what it is.
