Ginx snewx
I'm just giving Pete crap...he knows...I'm not trying to bring anyone down. But this whole notion of the "woe is me" is also wrong. This winter is pretty bad. Even Pete's 18-20" or whatever he had this winter is awful. I know he had the freak October storm, but you guys have to stop polishing a terd also. I'm enjoying the cold right now..but c'mon. It will never snow again, winter cancel. Of course the winter is bad but as Will said last night, some not you predict the future by the past. I am encouraged by the delay of the transient 2 day real torch. My thoughts are thaw week with a couple of real warm days then the LL cold and Higher than normal pressures bring us back to near normal.

Ginx snewx
XXX feb? (i think so) IDK LOL, hopefully this thaw type week, well for some it is, will do like others, pump up the ridge in Greenland and some semblance of NAO develops. There is a reason the first week of Feb is climo high snow and some think the annual Jan thaw the third week of Jan has something to do with it, climo wise. CoastalWx
49" on the season Scott, the October snow counts even though you don't want it to. I acknowledged the storm, I was just talking about this winter season specifically.
ski MRG
you keep telling yourself that maybe you will believe it Looked like snow. Fell from the sky like snow. Accumulated like snow. Skied like snow. It must have been snow. It counts. The only people that don't want it to count are the flatlanders that got skunked.

I'm not depicting the future, based on the past. I never said Feb will fail. However, I'm not out of my mind trying to spin this terd, like some are. After this week, it will get ugly, and I don't see anything meaningful coming up...regarding this week.

Hey I'm glad you and everyone else got snow. If you've noticed...I've been helping out with some forecasting while it rains at my house. Goes to show how I enjoy the storms..even of I see sh*t. It sucks being a cheerleader, but that's how it goes..lol. Hopefully Feb will be closer to avg.

If he's trying to argue this has been a good winter he's just being ridiculous. If he's arguing that he's able to make the most out of a crappy winter than that's fine. No question it has been very warm, relatively snowless, and just all around boring for weather enthusiasts from the Cape to Jay Peak. After getting my most memorable storm of my lifetime in October I can't complain and am fine with getting crap this season... it was worth it. I hope places like BOS can cash in by March. I had my historic storm... as long as VT keeps enough for good skiing I'm fine with giving up a good storm for you guys and Ray and Phil. As long as Mt. Tolland gets hosed. What I'm arguing is that if you are into winter sports there is no reason to despair. I've been skiing nearly every day. Whether it's just getting a workout a local hill or a few fanatastic powder days at MRG. This winter is only boring if you sit on your azz in front of the computer lamenting about a possible torch 10 days out. According to all the doom and gloomers all the snow outside my window was supposed to be rain. Ooops, nobody has a crystal ball. Ice fishing, ice skating, sledding, skiing, x-c skiing are all available. It hasn't been the greatest snowfall wise but I've been having a blast and will continue to do so. Some people will whittle away the days bitchin' and some people will get out an get after it. The second group tends to be fun and healthier mentally and physically. Off to the B'east, time to ski ski ski.

wxmanmitch
Had a low of -4°F here this morning. After stabilizing around 8° F for a while, we plummeted after midnight, even with some off and on lake effect clouds. Big MOS fail last night. As one of my met professors always used to say, "Don't be a MOS munchie!".
CoastalWx
MOS tends to blow it on delivery from NNW flow. That's the best way we cool. Limited downslope and also snowpack layed down too.
