CapturedNature
Why is Hartford always so skewed in relation to any other place, whether snow or temp, sh it even Brainard Field averaged a degree warmer. Elevation wise, they are one of the lowest stations in the state. The CT River at Hartford is sea level so it's not much more than that. You're also inland in a big valley so that will help. Also, airports are not designed for climate monitoring....airport safety is their main concern. That would explain why the sensors are right next to the tarmac:

DavisStraight
Yeah here they usually go to the south shore of long island, and sometimes they play here on temporary greens, but to have the real greens open this late in the season is unusual. Grin and bare it at this point, cold and dry blows...........hopefully the cold comes with snow mid to late month. We played New Years Day 2007 then things turned around, I thought we had a good 5-6 weeks but looking back at records it wasnt as great as I seem to remember. Id take that this year though. cheetah440
Winnapaug in Westerly RI is usually the spot in winter for me. Haven't played much in RI, just Newport national and Wannamoisett a few times. The only other par69 I've played other than Plymouth. Both Ross gems. I think Wannamoisett gets the nod IMO. Both with devastatingly difficult greens. Tomorrow should be great day down that way.

We have a group that goes to Turningstone in Verona NY every year and then play a gem in cooperstown. I could see doing a weekend at Foxwoods. Would be fun. So much to do so little time to do it. We used to play the old course and changed it to Turningstone. Cool old course, we go in Oct and some yrs they just leave keys in the carts and you leave money in a can on the door lol. Fun though. snowman21
84.1 inches is the snowiest at BDL? I could have sworn the record was 100+ set back in 95-96. Unless I'm reading that wrong.. wish this board didn't screw up fixed width messages like that.
HIPPYVALLEY
We've lost a couple posters this year. Birvine and DominicNH both have vanished. Anyone heard from them? He is stirring the pot over in OT politics every chance he gets. I think it's kind of humorous because there are so many conservatives over there and he is constantly bombarding that place with progressive hit pieces. Unless I'm reading that wrong.. wish this board didn't screw up fixed width messages like that. I assume they mean Dec 1 to Feb 28th, I'm sure they beat 100 inches for the 95-96 season including fall and spring snowfalls. Edit: Looks like 115.2 for the whole 95-96 season at BDL (http://www.erh.noaa....te/bdlsnw.shtml)
